The preseason USA Today Coaches Poll was released Thursday and Virginia Tech was one of two ACC football programs ranked in the top 25. The Hokies will start the year at No. 13.
The only other ACC team included in the poll is No. 5 Florida State, which the assembled media picked to win the conference championship at last week’s ACC Kickoff.
Of note is the fact that none of Virginia Tech’s opponents are included in the poll. Other ACC schools that received votes were Miami, North Carolina, Clemson and North Carolina State.
This is the seventh consecutive season the Hokies have begun the year ranked in the top 25.
